I’ve worked on many bookshop websites before but this design for Lion Hudson is the first where the brief specified that the design had to appeal to an audience from children to adults. It presented an interesting challenge which I think we’ve surmounted.
For the design I used bold and colourful icons for key navigational elements which makes them both prominent and easy to identify.
Scrollers on key landing pages, including the homepage, allow Lion Hudson to promote new titles using graphics they generate in-house.
The site also works on mobiles and tablets as well as desktops.
